CM stands his ground before Sonia, Rahul

New Delhi, DHNS: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is learnt to have defended his position on the watch row, before the Congress high command on Friday.

During his meeting with the Congress national president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi, Siddaramaiah reportedly said that the controversy was raked up by opposition parties for no reason.

The watch was gifted by his close friend and he would declare in his annual assets and liability report, he reportedly said. It was learnt that several leaders in the party State unit had complained to the party top brass that the party paid heavy price in the recently held polls due to the watch row. They had also sought that the party should seek an explanation from the chief minister.

He told reporters after the meeting that H?D?Kumaraswamy, should not make baseless allegations.
