Cabinet expansion on cards

Published On : 06 Aug 2017   |  Reported By : Canaranews network

Bengaluru: The last cabinet expansion of the present state government is expected to take place by the end of next week. The expansion, which was postponed several times for various reasons, will have to take place soon as Assembly election is not far off, believe top brass leadership in the party. They feel that postponing the same, citing reasons, is not a healthy development.

Shadakshari from Tipatur and MLC H M Revanna are in the forefront to become ministers. Sources say their induction is almost certain. One among the two, P M Narendra Swamy and R B Thimmapur will also become minister. But last minute surprises are common in politics.

Though chief minister Siddaramaiah wants to make someone from Dalit community as home minister, he has not decided whom to accommodate. There are many candidates in the Dalit community aspiring for the post. Previous home minister Dr G Parameshwar was also a Dalit.

Mandya region and persons from Lingayat and Dalit communities, will get representations this time.
