Mangaluru, (DHNS): A total of 94 devotees performed 'Ede Snana' ritual at the famed Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple on Wednesday.
In fulfilment of their vows, the devotees rolled on banana leaf leftovers on the temple premises. 'Ede Snana' was performed ahead of Champa Shashthi, an auspicious day devoted to the worship of Lord Subrahmanya, the presiding deity. Religious Endowment Department scholars Dr H Rajagopal and Prof Shivakumar provided guidance.
After the Mahapuja on Wednesday afternoon, the 'Naivedya' offered to the Lord was served to the cattle on banana leaves. The devotees took a holy dip in Darpanatheertha and rolled on the leftovers. Security was tightened on the temple premises.
