Mangaluru (The Hindu): Senior Congress leader B. Janardhana Poojary on Sunday said that the reported move to re-induct K.J. George into the State Cabinet after the latter being given a clean chit by the CID in the Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganapathi suicide case would be detrimental to the Congress.

He was speaking to reporters after performing Urulu Seve at the Kudroli Gokarnatheshwara Temple seeking divine intervention for a favourable resolution to the Cauvery issue here.

Stating that the CID has acted as per the directions of the Chief Minister, Mr. Poojary demanded an independent probe by a Supreme Court judge in the case.

He said that the late Ganapathi’s interview to a television channel should have been considered as a dying declaration.

Mr. Siddaramaiah may not be able to protect Mr. George for too long.
