Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara Meets Bangalore Archbishop on 1st November, 2015

Bengaluru: His Grace Dr Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore was the host toDr. G. Parameshwara the current Home Minister of Karnataka and also the current president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee since October 2010 on Sunday November first evening at Archbishop’s residence. It was mainly a courtesy call where the two stalwarts met and exchanged greetings. The Archbishop honoured the Home Minister with a shawl, garland and Mysore Peta along with a flower bouquet. The Home Minister greeted the Archbishop with a flower bouquet. The Archbishop said a prayer of Blessing over Dr Parameshwar and wished him well in his new task as the home Minister of Karnataka and wished for Rajyotsava.

Fr Anthony Swamy the Chancellor and PRO of the Archdiocese of Bangalore and the PRO of Bangalore Archdiocese, Fr Eugene Lobo S.J. PRO of Karnataka Regional Catholic Bishops’ Conference and Secretary Education Karnataka Regional Commission for Education, Fr Anthony Mahendran, Secretary to the Archbishop, Mr Lukose Vallatharai IAS (Retd) were present at the meeting. The Home Minister fresh from the Rajyotsava Programmes looked relaxed and extended his support and cooperation to the Archbishop and the Church in general in situations under the control ofhisministry. The meeting took place for about thirty minutes over a cup of tea and was extremely cordial it was said.

Dr. G. Parameshwara was born on 6 August 1953 in Gollahalli, Tumkur had his education in Tumkur and later did his in B.Sc. and M.Sc Agricultural science in University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore. He did his doctorate in Plant physiology from Waite Agricultural Research Institute, University of Adelaide, Australia. In 1993, Dr Parmeshwar served as Minister for Sericulture and from 1998 to 2004 served as Minister of Higher Education. He has been elected to the Assembly four times.
