Bengaluru, (DHNS): Indira Lankesh, the mother of slain journalist-activist Gauri Lanakesh, says she has no faith in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
“Let the state set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case,” she told Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday. She met the chief minister to urge him to provide justice to her daughter by arresting her killers. She was accompanied by K S Vimala of the Janawadi Mahila Sanghatane.
Siddaramaiah responded positively and said the government was committed to conducting a fair investigation.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi has spoken to Siddaramaiah over the phone and sought details of the case and the progress in the investigation.
Gauri was shot at point blank at her house in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, West Bengaluru, on September 5
