JD(S) wins Mysuru corporation byelection

Mysuru, (DHNS): The Congress party has suffered a setback in the byelection to ward number 32 of the Mysuru City Corporation as its candidate lost the deposit, in the election held on Sunday. The counting of votes was done on Wednesday.

JD(S) candidate SBM Manju defeated his nearest rival K Madesh of the BJP by a margin of 307 votes.
Of the 4,923 votes polled, Manju secured 2,424 votes. Madesh managed to get 2,117 votes. Congress candidate B K Prakash secured just 329 votes.

The result was announced within an hour of counting which was held at the Maharaja Sanskrit Pathashala on Sayyaji Rao Road.
