Bengaluru, DHNS: The marital discord between Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his wife Vijayalakshmi has deepened further and taken an ugly turn with the couple making accusations against each other targeting their character and conduct.

Meanwhile, the police served summons on them to appear for questioning and counselling.

The CK?Achchukattu police have decided to summon the actor for questioning. “Vijayalakshmi and her apartment security guard Devaraj have filed separate complaints. We will act as per the law and summon Darshan for questioning in a couple of days,” DCP?(South)?B S?Lokesh Kumar said.

Darshan was in Mysuru on Thursday to meet his mother when the police contacted him and asked him to appear for questioning. Vijayalakshmi will also be summoned if necessary, the DCP said.

Darshan, 39, who has starred in many successful Kannada films, earlier suggested that Vijayalakshmi “had a boyfriend and moved with him”. She “stole” his Audi car and “allowed her boyfriend” to drive it. The two went somewhere recently and the boyfriend caused an accident and damaged the car’s windscreen, he said.

According to the actor, he had gone to her apartment only to see his son, but the guard Devaraj “prevented” him from going in and he returned without saying a word. The actor also accused his wife and the guard of filing “false” complaints against him.

Vijayalakshmi refuted Darshan’s allegations and said she never had a boyfriend. She has been living separately for the past 19 months. Darshan often visited her and caused a nuisance, forcing her to go to the police, she said.

She said that the Audi car was registered in Darshan’s name and was used only by the chauffeur to drop her son at the school.

The chauffeur never allowed anybody to use the car. Vijayalakshmi said that she never expected Darshan to “stoop” to accusing her of having a boyfriend. She said she was “deeply hurt” by the accusation.
