Bengaluru (The Hindu): The issue of certain bank officials and officers not knowing Kannada was raised at the function with Pratap Simha, MP, and C. Shikha, DC, asking banks to lay importance to impart Kannada lessons to their staff. As many of the banking staff come from other States under the national recruitment, the banks must organise Kannada classes for their staff for effective interaction with customers, most of whom are from rural areas.
Lead Bank Manager K.N. Shivalingaiah said steps had been taken by banks to impart Kannada lessons to their staff.
