Lad hints at 70% quota for Kannadigas in pvt sector

Hubballi, DHNS: Labour and?Employment Minister Santosh Lad said on Sunday that the government was preparing to bring in reservation for candidates belonging to the state in private sector jobs too.

Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a programme here, Lad said this move was aimed at helping the youth of the state to get more employment opportunities.

He said it had been planned to make the private firms provide 70% of their total jobs to the youth of the state and 5% to persons with disabilities, the minister said.

Unemployment was a pan-India problem. But the government was trying its best to create maximum job opportunities and had launched various programmes for the youth to enhance their skills and make them employable. The government was ready to work with industries in this regard, he said.

“The curriculum in ITIs and other technical schools is not up to the international level. There is a need to change the syllabus of these schools.”

Criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi over demonetisation, Lad said 0.5 % of the people had hoarded black money in their homes or apartments. To find out those, he was troubling 99.5% of the people.
