Bengaluru, (DHNS): Lalu Prasad’s youngest son and former deputy chief minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav will campaign for the Congress during the Karnataka Assembly elections.

The list of Congress star campaigners, released by the AICC, includes the names of Tejashwi, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and NCP chief Sharad Pawar among the non-Congress leaders who would canvass for the grand old party.

While Tejashwi, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, has firmed up his grip over the RJD in the absence of his incarcerated father (who is undergoing treatment at AIIMS, Delhi), his proximity to Congress chief Rahul Gandhi is well known, particularly after the latter took him out for a lunch at Delhi’s Khan Market.

“Having proved his mettle in the by-elections in Bihar, Tejashwi will campaign for the Congress in Karnataka which has a sizeable population of Biharis,” informed a Congress source here.
