Liquor shops to be closed

NO POWER SUPPLY

There will be no power supply to some areas in Udupi town on May 17 between 9.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. The areas are Kunjibettu, Chittady, Krishna Mutt area, Olakadu, Kolambe, Mission Compound, Shanthinagara, Kinnimulky, Court Road, K M Road, Bailoor, Udyavara, Pitrodi and Kadekar. It is for maintenance works.


CHIEF PRO TAKES CHARGE

P.A. Dhananjayan assumed charge as the new Chief Public Relations Officer of Southern Railway on Friday. Mr. Dhananjayan, a postgraduate in Mass Communication and Journalism, was Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Palakkad Division earlier. He holds postgraduate qualifications in Public Relations, Advertising and Tourism Management and has held various posts in Southern Railway in various capacities.


NEW COLLEGE

A new college, Misbah Women’s College, will be inaugurated at Katipalla here on Monday at 2.30 pm. It is affiliated to Mangalore University and managed by Mibah Knowledge Foundation.

District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim has ordered closure of liquor shops in taluks within three km radius from Kerala from midnight of May 14 to midnight of May 16. It is in view of Assembly elections in Kerala.
