Bengaluru, (DHNS): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said that the local language should get first priority in the state, and the imposition of some other language is unacceptable even in the constitution. He was addressing the state on the occasion of 71st Independence Day in Manekshaw Parade ground, Bengaluru.

In his speech, CM said, “First priority should be given for the regional language in the state, and next comes all the others languages. When there is a language declared as official, it’s even unconstitutional to impose any other language in the state.”

Following a huge protest against the imposition of Hindi language from central government, Siddaramaiah wrote a letter to Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) officials to remove the Hindi signboards in Metro stations across Bengaluru.
