Man attacked after filing RTI query

Mangaluru (The Hindu): A 22-year-old man was attacked on Wednesday night, allegedly by a group that was not happy with his query regarding the lodge run atop his house in Ullal.

According to the Ullal police, Hamza Mohammed (22) was not happy with the lodge run by a Mohammed. He had sought information about the lodge from the Town Municipal Council.

The police said Mohammed and six others waylaid Hamza near his house on Wednesday night and threw chilli powder on his face. They assaulted him and fled when Hamza managed to raise an alarm. The police said Hamza was being treated in a hospital in Ullal.
