‘Mangaluru is 3rd cleanest city in India

Mangaluru:  Mangaluru the third cleanest among 476 cities in the country as per the ranking given by the Union Urban Development Ministry under the Swachh Bharath Mission.

This piece of information was given by Mayor Harinath Jogi at a press meet on March 15, Tuesday. The survey was conducted under the National Urban Sanitation Policy and the rating was given considering performance in 19 indicators. Mysuru which stood first scored 65.09 points while Mangaluru got 64.74 points.

H N Gopalkrishna, MCC Commissioner said necessary measures would be taken to improve the ranking of the city in the next survey likely to be held between October and December.
