Manipal university to celebrate yoga

Manipal (The Hindu): Manipal University will organise a yoga session for the staff and students at MIT food court here from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. on the occasion of International Yoga Day on June 21. A number of events are scheduled for the day and will be organised by the Division of Yoga and NCC wing of the Manipal Institute of Technology.

In charge and head, Division of Yoga, Annapoorna K., said competitions in essay writing, poster and ‘asanas’ for students and staff of Manipal University will be held. A stage programme will also be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Library Auditorium of MIT. A lecture on introduction to yoga, demonstration by the students of the Division of Yoga, and felicitation of the yoga guru, Ganapathi Joisa, former Head of the Department of Division of Yoga, will be held.
