Bengaluru, DHNS: It is going to be a show of strength of sorts by the newly appointed State BJP?president B S Yeddyurappa at Palace Grounds on April 14. He is going to address a huge gathering of his party workers for the first time after taking over the mantle from Pralhad Joshi.

The Bengaluru unit of the party has made elaborate arrangements for the public function to be held at Gayathri Vihar, Palace Grounds, at 4.30 pm. The entry is from Gate 4, near Mekhri Circle.

The party is expecting about 20,000 workers from various districts and mainly from Bengaluru for the rally to be addressed by Yeddyurappa, according to BJP?city unit president Subbanna.

He said that the programme was planned to be held on Thursday for two reasons - to coincide with Dr Ambedkar Jayanti and to ensure lesser traffic hassles on approach roads to the venue, as it is a government holiday.

Yeddyurappa’s day will begin with a visit to the Raghavendra Mutt in Seshadripuram at 9.30 am.

Then, he will reach the BJP office, Malleswaram, to receive the party flag from Joshi and formally occupy the president’s chair. This will be followed by the Ambedkar Jayanti programme at the office.

The evening public programme is scheduled to be attended by Union Ministers Ananth Kumar, D?V?Sadananda Gowda and P Muralidhar Rao, party national general secretary, among others.
