Modi to address farmers' rally in Belagavi on February 27

Published On : 09 Feb 2016

Hubballi, DHNS: State BJP president Pralhad Joshi announced on Monday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would address a farmers’ convention to be held in Belagavi on February 27.

He told mediapersons here that the event was aimed at creating awareness about the Prime Minister’s Fasal Bima Yojana (crop insurance scheme) and the tentative timing of the convention was 4 pm.

“When BJP was in power in the State, getting one union minister from the UPA government for the Global Investors’ Meet was difficult. But, eight union ministers attended the ‘Invest Karnataka’ meet this time and the union government was the biggest investor, as Union Surface Transport and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari alone announced an investment of Rs one lakh crore,” he said.

Cong’s condition

Congress leader Janardhana Poojary’s statement on ‘dead wood’ in the Cabinet reflected the condition of the party, he said. If unfit members of the Cabinet have to be dropped, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also has to quit, Joshi added.
