No respite from rain in many districts

Bengaluru, (DHNS): Showers continued to lash Belagavi, Kodagu and other districts. Intermittent rain lashed Belagavi city and surrounding villages on Tuesday, while it was occasional drizzle in Chikkodi and Bailhongal taluks of Belagavi district.

The showers lashed the city and surrounding areas since morning.
Heavy showers were reported from the entire Raichur district, including the city, much to the joy of the farming community. The Met department has forecast more rain in the coming days.
Kodagu distict, which witnessed heavy rain in the last two days, had a respite with the fall in intensity on Tuesday.
There was a dip in flood water at Triveni Sangama, though mild rain was reported from Talacauvery and Bhagamandala. The district received 70.34 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours.

Light rain lashed Kalaburagi district for the fourth consecutive day. Intermittent showers lashed the city in the afternoon. Aland and Chincholi taluks received light rainfall. In the past 24 hours, the district received an average rainfall of 18.89 mm.

A good spell of showers was reported for the first time this season in Haveri city. There were reports of rain from other parts of the district as well.

Moderate to heavy rain continued to lash several parts of Shivamogga district.

Intermittent rain

Shivamogga, Bhadravathi, Sagar, Thirthahalli and Hosanagar received good spell of rain intermittently throughout the day. Shikaripur and Sorab received moderate rain. The water level in Linganamakki dam rose to 1,791.90 feet against the maximum level of 1,819 feet as the catchment area received a rainfall of 49 mm. The inflow was 20,027 cusecs.

With heavy rains lashing Kodagu district, the inflow into the Cauvery basin dams has increased. Mysuru city, Mandya city, Maddur town and surrounding areas received moderate rains. Heavy rains continued at Ramanathapura and Konanur hobli in Hassan district.

The KRS reservoir recorded an inflow of 22,207 cusecs. The outflow was 11,240 cusecs. The water level was 94.60 ft against the maximum level of 124.80 ft.
