Mangaluru (The Hindu): A replica of Eiffel Tower of Paris, France, is an added attraction at Dr. Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama now.

The 50-ft tall tower erected in the boat lake garden at the nisargadhama is part of a series of replica of monuments proposed to come up at the garden, according to its Executive Director H.J. Bhandary.

Other plans

The replica of India Gate, Kutub Minar, caves of Ellora, the stone chariot of Hampi and Taj Mahal would come up in the garden in the next six months, he said.

They would be installed on the banks of the lake, he said adding that the next structure to be erected is India Gate. It would be 14 ft tall.

He said that the Eiffel tower had been built using steel.

Other structures would be built using fibre and ferro cement.

Added attraction

Mr. Bhandary said that those replicas would be an added attraction for tourists to spend more time in the garden enjoying the lake, boating and fresh water aquaria.

He said that those structures would not destroy the beauty of the garden.

The Executive Director said that landscape would be developed around the replicas and seating arrangements would be made.
