Bengaluru, (DHNS): The online application form for the Common Entrance Test (CET) 2018 was released by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) on Thursday.

Students who want to write the entrance examination should complete the application form by 5.30 pm on February 26. Instructions on filling the online application are available on the KEA website (http://kea.kar.nic.in/). Students are advised to understand the instructions carefully before submitting their application.

As declared earlier, the exam will be conducted from April 18 to 20. The examination is based on the first and second year pre-university syllabi set by the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE).

The examination is a gateway for students to gain entry into engineering colleges in the state. Aside from BE, the exam is also written by candidates interested in farm science courses such as BSc (Hons) Agriculture, BTech (Agri Engg), and BTech (Food Technology). Entry to Veterinary Science and Pharmacy courses are also through CET.

This year, admission to AYUSH courses, in both private and government colleges, will also be through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Earlier, students would write CET for AYUSH courses. Allotment of seats will be done through the KEA based on NEET ranking, as is being done for MBBS and BDS courses.

For more information, students may check the website or call the KEA helpline at 080–23460460 between 9.30 am and 6.00 pm on working days.
