Bengaluru, (DHNS):To counter the BJP's Nava Karnataka Nirmana Parivarthana Yatra, the JD(S) has decided to launch around 50 vehicles mounted with big LED screens, as part of its campaigning strategies.

These buses will meander through villages across the state, showcasing a half-an-hour film on party president H D Kumaraswamy and his achievements.

Speaking to DH, Kumaraswamy said that the party had hired these vehicles specifically to highlight the contributions and achievements made by him during his 20-month stint as chief minister.

In addition to the film, the JD(S) will also list the party programmes, and play songs to draw the voters' attention.

The vehicles were to be launched alongside the launch of the party's "Kumaraparva-Hosa Manvanthara Shubharamba' campaign on November 3 from the Chamundeshwari Assembly constituency in Mysuru. The campaign, however, has been postponed following the death of JD(S) MLA S Chikkamadu on Wednesday. Kumaraswamy was planning a grand "re-entry" into politics by paying obeisance to the Goddess Chamundeshwari atop Chamundi Hill in Mysuru. Kumaraswamy, who underwent a heart surgery recently, said that he has attained rebirth following the health scare.

Also, given Kumaraswamy's fragile health, the party has decided to send circulars to all the district and taluk party offices mandating party workers to neither garland him nor burst crackers when he goes to their villages.

The party had also planned to give newspaper advertisements in this regard. Kumaraswamy, who is susceptible to infections, had developed a bad cough about eight months ago after inhaling fumes from crackers. His condition had worsened subsequently making it inevitable for him to undergo a second heart surgery.
