Bengaluru, (DHNS): Several districts continued to receive moderate to heavy rainfall in the state on Thursday.

Bountiful rain lashed Mudigere taluk in Chikkamagaluru. In the last 24 hours, Kottigehara received 73.8 mm of rainfall. Guthi, Bhairapura, Devaramane, Hoskere, Devarunda, Tripura and other places received good rainfall.

Rivers and water bodies that flow in Charmadi Ghat were swollen in the taluk. Owing to heavy rain, estate owners had declared a holiday for labourers on Thursday. A house collapsed at Kalmane.

Though rain receded in Dakshina Kannada district, light showers lashed Mangaluru. Dank weather prevailed for most part of the day in Mangaluru. In the last 24 hours, the district received an average of 38.5 mm rainfall.

Rain receded in Kodagu district. The district received an average of 20.5 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours. The water level in Harangi reservoir stood at 2,821.05 feet. The inflow of water was 941 cusecs.

Intermittent rain lashed several parts of Shivamogga district on Thursday. Heavy rain lashed Hosanagar taluk. Thirthahalli received a good spell of rain towards evening. Shivamogga, Bhadravathi, Sagar received rain intermittently throughout the day.

Following rainfall of 34.6 mm in the catchment area, water-level in the Linganamakki dam rose to 1,752.95 feet against the maximum level of 1,819 feet. The inflow of water was 12,491 cusecs.

The water inflow into River Krishna and its tributaries from Maharashtra continued to increase with an inflow of 18,000 cusecs being recorded on Thursday.

The Chikkodi sub-division has been facing a drought-like situation with most of the water bodies going dry. But rainfall in the Konkan and the Western Ghats regions of Maharashtra has led to the catchments of River Krishna and its tributaries getting good rain, which has led to an increase in the water levels in the river. Water inflow into River Krishna from Rajapur barrage increased to 18,765 cusecs on Thursday, but there was no threat of floods. Dharwad and surrounding areas received heavy but intermittent rainfall throughout the day.

Karwar, Mundgod, Yellapur, Siddapur, Bhatkal and various other places in Uttara Kannada district received moderate rain. The sky remained overcast since morning. In the last 24 hours, the district received a total of 453.8 mm of rainfall and a minimum of 41.3 mm of rainfall. Ankola received 57 mm of rainfall, Bhatkal - 82.8 mm, Haliyal - 11.4 mm, Honnavar - 61.1 mm, Karwar - 56.8 mm, Kumta - 52.2 mm, Mundgod - 13.6 mm, Siddapur - 23.2 mm, Sirsi - 35.5 mm, Joida - 19 mm, and Yellapur has received 38.2 mm of rainfall.
