B.C. ROAD (The Hindu): In continuation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s jibe that the Siddaramaiah government was “10% commission government”, former BJP State president and Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi on Monday accused the Chief Minister of directing contractors executing roadworks of Karnataka Road Development Corporation Ltd. to pay 20% commission to sitting Congress MLAs.

Addressing party workers on the third day of the BJP’s Jana Suraksha Yatra, Mr. Joshi said there was nothing wrong in the PM’s comment. “The actions of the Chief Minister are the proof (for the allegations),” he said.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, he said, was accused of accepting a wrist watch worth 70 lakh. Mr. Joshi alleged that the CM has directed contractors executing road works of KRDCL to pay 20% commission for local Congress legislators as they need money for the coming Assembly elections.

The yatra, which started from Kushalnagar in Kodagu on March 3, began from Mani on Monday morning. BJP activists, including Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, came in vehicles from Mani to Melkar, from where they marched for about 6 km to reach B.C. Road. After the meeting on B.C. Road, the yatra proceeded to Moodbidri, where another meeting was held.
