Mysuru, (DHNS): BJP president Amit Shah, who campaigned in Mysuru district on Saturday, skipped Varuna Assembly segment.

According to party sources, some workers were planning to vent their ire over denial of ticket to B Y Vijayendra from Varuna constituency and Shah wanted to avoid the embarrassment. He was scheduled to take out a roadshow and address party workers in Hadinaru village.

Vijayendra was projected as the BJP candidate from Varuna, but, the party fielded Thotadappa Basavaraju. Vijayendra was later made the general secretary of BJP Yuva Morcha.

In Periyapatna, Shah ended his roadshow halfway since there was poor response from the people. He was in the town to campaign for the party candidate, S Shankar. The roadshow was planned from APMC yard to inspection bungalow. But, Shah got down at Basaveshwara Circle and headed towards the helipad to reach T Narasipur.

Local BJP leaders said that Shah concluded the show midway, as he wanted to participate in the programmes organised at T Narasipur and Mysuru.
