Siddu hosts lunch in son's memory

Bengaluru, DHNS: Senior leaders of the Congress, the BJP and the JD(S), and top officials of the state government attended a lunch hosted by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday in memory of his son Rakesh, who passed away recently.

More than 5,000 attended the lunch organised at chief minister’s official residence “Cauvery.” Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Gulam Nabi Azad, state BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa, Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, Congress leader in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, almost all the ministerial colleagues of Siddaramaiah, legislators from various parties and close friends of Siddaramaiah attended.

JD(S) chief H D Deve Gowda and party state president H D Kumaraswamy did not participate. However, Gowda’s elder son H D Revanna was present. Besides Siddaramaiah, all his family members, including wife and children of the late Rakesh were present.

Siddaramaiah played a host by welcoming the guests. Some people from Siddaramanahundi, the native village of Siddaramaiah, turned emotional when they met the chief minister. Siddaramaiah consoled them and directed them towards the dining tables.
