Stern action sought against Facebook user

Chikkamagaluru (The Hindu):Followers of Sringeri Mutt on Saturday staged a protest here, condemning the derogatory remarks against their seer on the Facebook. Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, including Lok Sabha Member Shobha Karandlaje participated in the protest.

The protesters demanded that the person or persons, who had posted the derogatory remarks against the seer be brought to book.

The protesters also urged the State government to treat the case with all seriousness and initiate action against the guilty under the Goonda Act.

Ms. Karnadlaje said: “The accused has been caught. The government should take stern action against him.”
