Supreme Court monitored S.I.T investigation ordered into the Karnataka Illegal Mining Case.

The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India today heard the Illegal Mining Case involving the de-reservation of 11,797 Sq.Kms of forest areas in Bellary filed in 2011 against 14 persons including Former Chief Ministers S.M.Krishna, N.Dharam Singh and H.D.Kumaraswamy.

Today (29/03/2017) the Hon’ble Supreme Court has ordered that a Supreme Court Monitored investigation shall be conducted by the S.I.T against Sri.N.Dharam Singh, H.D.kumaraswamy, Dr.M.Basappa Reddy, Sri. Gangaram Baderiya-IAS, Sri.V.Umesh-IAS, Sri.I.R.Perumal-IAS, Sri.K.S.Manjunath-IAS, Sri.D.S.Ashwath-IAS, Smt.Jija Madhavan Hari Singh-IPS, Sri.Mahendra Jain-IAS, Sri.K.Srinivas, Sri.M.Ramappa and Sri.Shankaralingiah and a report is to be submitted to the Supreme Court within THREE months.

In the Meantime the stay granted on 27/01/2012 shall continue to operate in favor of former Chief Minister S.M.Krishna only until the next date of hearing in the first week of July.

The investigation ordered today would go into the issues raised in the PCR filed in 2011 (by Abraham T.J) which have already been upheld by the High Court of Karnataka by its order dated 20/01/2012.

The Supreme Court has also ordered that on other Court (Trial Courts or High Courts) in this country interfere in this case during the period of the investigation.

The persons against the investigation would continue are/for:

Shri.N.Dharam Singh – Granting permission in the name of Farmers to illegal miners, for lifting of sand-Allowing 44 applications for the transportation of iron ore (by claiming it to be sand) has actually permitted transportation of illegally mined ore, totally to 238166 MTs, valued at Rs.23,22,11,850/-

Shri.H.D.Kumara Swamy – Showing illegal favors to M/s Sai Venketeshwara Minerals and M/s. Jantarkal Minings & also the allegation by Janardhan Reddy of collecting 150 Crore bribe from miners in Bellary district raised.

Dr.M.Basappa Reddy - Former Director of Mines and Geology, has permitted an unauthorized movement of 56,747 M.T. of iron ore/ manganese ore, resulting in revenue loss of Rs.6,41,32,335/-

Shri. Gangaram Baderiya, IAS the then Director of Department of Mines and Geology has allowed illegal transportation of iron ore in two cases, permitting the transportation of 14200 MT of ore which was valued at Rs.1,38,45,000/-

Shri. V. Umesh, IAS Former M.D of M/s Mysore Minerals Limited, during his tenure 24/05/1999 to 08/03/2000, by his intentional acts of Commission & Omissions, has caused a total loss of Rs.6,90,56,138/-

Sri I.R. Perumal, IAS Former M.D M/s Mysore Minerals Limited, during his tenure 31/10/2000 to 26/11/2002, by his intentional acts of Commission & Omissions, has caused a total loss of Rs.5,02,60,312/-

Sri K.S. Manjunath, IAS Former M.D M/s Mysore Minerals Limited, during his tenure from 26/11/2002 to 7/12/2002 & 20/02/2003 to 7/7/2003, by his intentional acts of Commission & Omissions, has caused a total loss of Rs.4,04,66,938/-

Sri D.S. Aswath, IAS Former M.D M/s Mysore Minerals Limited, during his tenure from 25/08/2003 to 14/04/2004 by his intentional acts of Commission & Omissions, has caused a total loss of Rs.95,23,82,953/-

Smt. Jija Madhavan Hari Singh, IPS Former M.D M/s Mysore Minerals Limited, during her tenure from 15/04/2004 to 14/06/2006, by his intentional acts of Commission & Omissions, has caused a total loss of Rs.299,42,72,022/-

Sri Mahendra Jain, IAS Former M.D M/s Mysore Minerals Limited, during his tenure from 15/06/2006 to 09/01/2008, by his intentional acts of Commission & Omissions, has caused a total loss of Rs.219,56,81,974/-

Sri K. Srinivas Former Dy.G.M M/s Mysore Minerals Limited is jointly responsible with the respective M.Ds, during the years 2000-03 and 2003-05, for causing a loss of Rs. 14,84,31,833/-

Sri M. Ramappa Former Dy.G.M M/s Mysore Minerals Limited is jointly responsible with the respective M.Ds, during the years 2003-04, for causing a loss of Rs. 6,10,47,870/-

Sri Shankaralingaiah Former Dy.G.M M/s Mysore Minerals Limited is jointly responsible with the respective M.Ds, during the years 2004-07, for causing a loss of Rs. 63,38,13,427/-
