Published On : 28 Dec 2015

Bengaluru, DHNS: A woman committed suicide after killing her son and daughter at their house in Mahadevapura police station limits in the City on Sunday.

The police said Veena (27), a homemaker, hanged to death her daughter Raashi (6) and Harshith (2) before ending her life. Veena, a native of Hoskote in Bengaluru Rural, had married Krishna (33), who runs Lakshmi Recreation Club at Mahadevapura in partnership with one of his friends. The couple and their children were living in a rented house in Kaverinagar in Mahadevapura.

Around 3.30 pm, Krishna returned home and knocked on the door. When there was no response, he enquired with his neighbours. After they told him that they had not seen Veena since noon, Krishna suspected something amiss and broke open the door with the help of his neighbours. To his shock, he found the bodies of his wife and children hanging from the ceiling. Veena had hung herself and the children with a nylon rope. Krishna’s neighbours lowered the bodies and took them to a nearby hospital. The doctors there declared that the three had died a few hours ago.

One being informed, the Mahadevapura police sent the bodies to the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital for autopsy. The police have registered a case and are questioning Krishna to ascertain what forced Veena to resort to the extreme act.
