LEAD INDIA 2020 Foundation along with Lions District 16 J - New Jersey and other various NGOs held an Event - Dr Kalam's Memorial Sustainable Development Conference at Hickman Hall RUTGERS UNIVERSAITY New Jersey for 84th Birthday Celebrations of People's President Late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on 17th October 2015.

The Highlight of the Event, The Keynote Speaker Mr David O'Connor, is the Chief of the Policy & Analysis Branch of Division for Sustainable Development at the UN Department of Economical & Social Affairs. He said that the Vision of India or USA or any country in the world, prime being Quality Education. He also mentioned that the Programme held last month both President of USA, Mr Barack Obhama & Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi, discussed on this issues and Health of Family in their respective countries.

In the Book LEAD INDIA 2020:A Vision for the New Millennium, Late A.P.J. Abdul Kalam said, Develop India by 2020, or even earlier, is not a dream. It need not be a mere vision in the minds of many Indians. It is a mission we can all take up and succeed.

Founder & Chairperson Prof Dr N.B. Sudershan Acharya, states people at the center of the development and keeping in perspective that 54% of our population is youth, he integrated Dr. Kalam’s ideals, vision and mission and created a training program for the youth titled Aap Badho Desh Ko Bhadao the fundamental philosophy being Individual development leads to National Development. Lead India 2020 Foundation, is now on the path of carrying the torch forward, focused on igniting and channelizing hidden potential in our youth.

In New Jersey event too Ln Mahesh Chitnis, IPDG/MD-GMT & Chairman Hari Eppanapally & President Srinivas Ganagoni, of LEAD INDIA 2020 Foundation, also aimed at Developing Spiritual Families, Affordable Quality Healthcare, Affordable Quality Education.

Ln Mala Shetty, from Chembur Mumbai, District 323 A2, attended this event found it very interesting as various speakers like Dr S Mani Chairman of Guruvaayoorappan Templs NJ, various organizations said that from Discovery, Invention we are going towards INNOVATION.

Consul General of India in New York Mr Dnyaneshwar Mulay, holding posts in various countries like Tokyo, Moscow, Port Louis, Damascus & Maldives, was also serving at Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, written books in Hindi, Marathi, translated in Kannada, Arabic, Urdu & Dhivehi also stressed for Development India by 2020.
