Thumbay Hospital Dubai Celebrates International Nurses Day

Thumbay Hospital – Dubai, started its International Nurses Day celebrations with the lighting of the lamp and professional oath taking in honor of Florence Nightingale - the Founder of modern nursing, on Monday, 9th May 2016. The celebrations will be marked by a variety of programs until 27th May.

Mr. Thumbay Moideen, the Founder President of Thumbay Group inaugurated the International Health Awareness Exhibition held at the hospital on Tuesday, 10th May 2016, as part of the Nurses Day celebrations. The theme of the exhibition was ‘Nursing History of Various Countries throughout the World and the Most Prevalent Disease Condition in those Countries which include the U.A.E, Europe, India, Pakistan, Egypt, Philippines and Nigeria.’ The main objective of the exhibition was to educate the community about various disease conditions, symptoms to be aware, prevention and treatment for it.

As part of the celebrations and going by the objectives, Thumbay Hospital - Dubai will also provide Free Medical and Dental checkups to more than 3000 people in various parts of Dubai, according to Mr. Akbar Moideen Thumbay, Vice President of the Healthcare Division of Thumbay Group. The checkup will also include health talks covering important topics relevant to UAE like Chicken Pox, Heat Stroke, Kidney Stones, Hygiene etc. The celebrations would conclude on Friday, 27th May, 2016, with a Continuous Nursing Education (CNE) program for nursing professionals, accredited by MoH.
