A Healthy Heart Carnival to create awareness among societies organised by Wockhardt Hospital, Mumbai Central.

In order to create awareness among the people at large, to know about the? heart and ways to lead a healthy lifestyle, Mumbai Central based Wockhardt? Hospital on Tuesday had organized a ‘Healthy Heart Carnival’ for the people of different age-groups on the occasion of ‘World Heart Day’. The day-long carnival inaugurated by Additional Commissioner of Police (South Mumbai), Pratap Dighavkar, witnessed a wide-range of activities, such as comprehensive health checkup camp and drawing competition for children.

Nearly 40 children participated in ‘Drawing competition’ also more than? ?150? Mumbai police and nearby? 600? ?society members went through heart check up held in the Hospital premises.Children's were excited and thrilled to draw sketches about imbibing healthy lifestyle. A life-size tree made from eco-friendly materials was created in the Hospital premises, covered with messagessignifying ways to lead a healthy life. “With the changing lifestyle we have been witnessing an increase in the number of patients suffering from heart related diseases. The drawing competition and a health check-up camp is an attempt towards creating awareness about inculcating good food habits and following a balanced lifestyle. This can help us to prevent ourselves from heart related ailments,” said Dr Parag Rindani, head wockhardt Hospital Mumbai Central.

With an increasing number of cardiac cases in the Mumbai,Wockhardt Hospital took a pledge to create awareness and the precautions that need to be taken across several spectrums of our health, which includes, gender, age and lifestyle. The 2-day comprehensive health checkup camp organized by the Hospital witnessed huge gathering of people undergoing complete body check-up, lipid profile, ECG, CBC, blood sugar, stress test, BP&BMI and cardiac consultation. Dr Rindani said, “By organizing such complementary medical camps gives a boost to everyone to become more conscious about their health and take corrective measures to be fit and healthy.
