Srinivisan to represent BCCI at ICC Board Meeting

Published On : 21 Jun 2015

Dubai, Jun 21 (PTI) N Srinivasan might have been barred from becoming BCCI President but he is set to represent the Indian Board in the ICC Board Meeting in Barbados later this week, instead of Jagmohan Dalmiya.

According to a release from the world governing body of the game, ICC chairman Srinivasan's name is mentioned as the representative of BCCI in the ICC Board Meeting from June 24-26. Srinivasan will also chair the ICC Board Meeting in his capacity as head of the word body.

All the other members of the ICC Board Meeting (10 Full Members and three elected Associate Member representatives) are either chairmen or presidents of their respective Boards while Greg Barclay is the officially nominated member of New Zealand Cricket. The ICC Board Meeting will be held two days after the ICC Annual Conference begins tomorrow with the Associate and Affiliate Members' meeting.

It is not known why Dalmiya will not be representing the BCCI in the ICC Board Meeting after his election as BCCI President in March.

BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur will, however, be India's representative in the Chief Executives' Committee Meeting which will be held from tomorrow ahead of ICC Board Meeting.

The Annual Conference is being hosted by the West Indies Cricket Board with the support of Barbados Cricket Association and Barbados Tourism Marketing Incorporated.

This will be the first time the ICC's annual meetings will take place in the West Indies and with delegates from over 50 ICC Members expected to attend, it will be the largest-ever gathering of cricket administrators in the Americas region to date.

The week's schedule includes the meetings of ICC Associate and Affiliate Members' (June 22); ICC Chief Executives' Committee (June 22-23); ICC HR & Remuneration Committee, Executive Committee, Annual Conference, Governance Committee meetings (June 24); Finance & Commercial Affairs Committee (June 25); ICC, IDI and IBC Board meetings (June 24-26).

Key issues on the agenda of meetings include amendments to ICC's Memorandum and Articles of Association, investiture of new ICC President, ICC Associate Membership application from Serbia, updates on the status of Sri Lanka Cricket and United States of America Cricket Association, a report from the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit, recommendations on cricket and development matters from recent committee meetings and ICC strategy post-2015.
