31 woman from Mangaluru and Kerala detained in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The immigration officials at the international airport here detained 31 women and a man who were proceeding to Armenia. They have been handed over to police.

The immigration officials, who grew suspicious that it could be a case of illegal human trafficking, questioned these 32 persons. The passengers claimed that they had completed nursing course in a private college at Mangaluru. They said that they were on their way to Armenia to undergo a two-month course to learn German language in a college there.

During further inquiry, the officials found that there was no such college in Armenia. Therefore, they were handed over to the personnel of the airport police station. All these youngsters were nursing students hailing from Kerala and Mangaluru, and that their parents have been informed.
