Puttur: In a tragic incident, a person who had stepped into the Kumaradhara river for a bath along with his friends at Patla drowned.
The deceased has been identified as Balakrishna Gowda (35), son of late Medappa Gowda of Kodimbala. The body was retrieved on Tuesday morning by the Puttur fire service personnel.
There has been increase in drowning in recent past. The authorities have warned people to be careful before venturing into water.
