Udupi: A 60-year-old man ended his life by hanging himself in a lodge on Thursday July 21 morning. The deceased has been identified as Nityananda Shetty (60), a resident of Kokkarne.
Shetty had rented a room in a lodge on Monday July 18. On Thursday morning, the lodge employees who visited his room to deliver hot water found that the door was bolted from inside, and Shetty did not open the door after repeated knocks. They peeped through the window and realized that Shetty had hanged himself from the ceiling fan inside his room.
The police were informed about the incident. A case has been registered.
