Mangaluru: Arun Alva’s Academy Of Art, an up to the minute academy for various art forms like performing, martial and visual arts, will be located in the heart of the city. Equipped with a state of art facility and top notch trainers for each field, the academy opened on Sunday, October 16.
Martial Arts
The academy offers different levels of workshops and short term courses in Boxing, Karate, Kalaripayattu, Boot camp, Judo.
Performing Arts
The academy offers training in various dance forms - Kathak, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyatam, Hip pop, B-boying, Contemporary, Jazz, Robotic, Salsa, Samba, Jive, and forms of folk dance such as Pili Nalike, Dolu kunitha, Bhangra, Dandiya, Thiruvathira and Oppana.
Two special courses 'Attakalari for fitness by Arun Alva', and 'Dance like the Dance Deva' by Academy's Director, Arun Alva will be offered.
Training, in field of Music, is offered for Hindustani /Carnatic (Vocal), Drums, Guitar, Piano, Mridangam, Flute, Tabla. .
The academy also caters to aspiring actors, providing training to perform on screen, on stage both in English and regional languages, and enact a variety of stunts on-screen.
It trains pupils in the art of modelling and grooming.
Visual Arts
This field covers the art of filmmaking, photography and jewellery making.
Admission to the courses is open to anybody with a zeal to learn and a passion to excel, irrespective of age and gender.
The trainers of Arun Alva’s Academy of Art have an in-depth knowledge and exposure of their areas of expertise. Every student of the academy gets a chance to perform and show case her/his talents before an audience. The academy markets its students' profile, to reach greater heights.
About the Director:
Arun Alva has over two decades experience as a performing artist. He has performed in over 30,000 stage shows both in India and abroad. He has been a part of several audio releases in Sandalwood and Mollywood. Currently, he judges a reality show Dance Mummy Dance. He has bagged the Junior Prabhu Deva Award and Tulu Sahitya Academy Award
The Academy, located in the heart of the city, is on the 3rd floor of Kelle Court at PM Rao road.
