Mangaluru (The Hindu): The Second Judicial Magistrate First Class on Saturday posted to Tuesday the hearing on the bail application of Prasad Attavar, former district president of Sri Rama Sena, who was arrested for alleged post on his Facebook account, commending the act of assailants shooting down writer M.M. The Mangaluru North police had registered a case against Prasad Attavar.

Advocates of Prasad Attavar had applied for regular bail and also for interim bail on Thursday. While granting interim bail, the II JMFC magistrate had asked prosecutor to file objections on Saturday.

The prosecutor filed objections and argued against release of Mr. Attavar.

After hearing the petitioner plea in favour of bail, the Magistrate posted the case for orders on Tuesday.

Attavar has been accused of committing offences under Sections 153 (A) (Promoting enmity between classes) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
