Mangaluru: Beary Language Day was inaugurated at Town Hall on Wednesday by M B Abdurrehman, former president of Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy.
In his address, he said that Beary language can prosper and progress when all people speaking Beary language give importance to the language by using it as a means of communication and by promoting Beary literature.
Beary Academy President Karambar Muhammad presided over the function. DK District in-charge Minister UT Khader, Tulu Academy President A C Bhandary, Konkani Academy Chief R P Naika, Mangaluru TP Chief Muhammad Monu, Mangalore University Beary Study Chair Convenor Prof Arabi, former presidents of Beary Academy Raheem Uchil, BA Mohammad Haneef and others were present.
The CD of the Beary language feature film ’Abba’ directed by M G Rahim was released by Karambar Muhammad on the occasion. The trailer of the film was also screened.
