Canara Bank celebrates Founder’s Day

Mangaluru (The Hindu): The circle office of Canara Bank on Thursday celebrated the 110th Founder’s Day to mark the birth anniversary of its founder Ammembala Subba Rao Pai.

Late Pai founded the bank at Mangaluru in 1906. Bank Executive Director Harideesh Kumar inaugurated the celebrations at the Founder’s monument at Dongarakeri and garlanded the bust of Late Pai.

G.V. Prabhu, Deputy General Manager of the circle office, and other executives from, branches, staff members and ex-staff members, and customers were present.

As a part of its corporate social responsibility activities, the circle Oofice donated 10 bags of rice to an old-age home, distributed scholarships to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes girl students, eight computers to Vyasa Maharshi Vidya Peetha, Mulky, and four computers to BMM High School administered by Sarvodaya SCs/STs Education Trust at the Founder’s monument.

Executive Director visited Mulky, the birth place of late Pai, and visited many customers.

Later, he participated in the Founder’s Day celebrations organised by Canara High School Association at Canara High School grounds in Mangaluru.
