Mangaluru: Southern Railway authorities have earmarked space for parking of vehicles used by persons with disabilities in front of the Mangaluru Central railway Station several weeks ago. Tape has been placed around this space.
However one sees a number of two-wheelers parked in the space allotted for persons with physical disabilities. A railway official was then found lifting the tape and parking his two-wheeler in that space. A taxi driver, who regularly takes passengers from the railway station, said most of the vehicles parked in the space were that of railway employees.
It is difficult for persons with disabilities to park their vehicle in the earmarked space. Persons with disabilities require a little more space on the either sides of their cars and two-wheelers. It was difficult for them to park their vehicles at public parking spaces.
