Mangaluru: Police raided a SIM card distributor firm at Balmatta and another firm at Urwa which outsources the work of processing documents for the purpose of issuing SIM cards. Crown at Balmatta and Cameo at Urwa are the two firms which were raided. C
Shivaprasad, one of the accused in the Vinayak Baliga murder case was using a SIM which belonged to Kareem who had died in May 2015. In another case, Charan murder accused named Rizwan had in his possession a SIM card which was registered in the name of a 28 year old youth named Cleven Philip who was unaware that a SIM in his name was used by another person.
Police had seized as many as 29 SIM cards from undertrials during their raid to the District Prison last week.
