Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani hits out at BJP

Published On : 30 Apr 2018

Bantwal: Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani was speaking at the conference organized state-wide under 'Save the Constitution' campaign at Sparsh Kalamandir at B C Road.

He challenged the Prime Minister and said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is hesitating to visit Karnataka. Though I am in Karnataka for so many days for 'Save Democracy' programme, Modi has not stepped into Karnataka out of fear. Let Modi, who speaks of false development come to Karnataka. I am a Gujarati and so is Modi. Come, we will discuss the development of Karnataka face-to-face."

Actor Prakash Rai said, "BJP will not form government at all. Wife of Vedavyas Kamath, BJP candidate of Mangaluru south legislative constituency is asking votes in order to save Hindutva. It is not a crime to ask for votes in a democracy. However, please do not seek votes on religious grounds. It is not right to play politics in the name of Hindu religion. BJP is a party which supports rapists.

"BJP does not have any principles and self-thinking capacity. We should know who you are. Yeddyurappa, what is your age? How old is Amit Shah? What is his qualification? Yeddyurappa will do anything for Amit Shah. Is this your eligibility?

D M Kulal, Mustafa Kempi, Nirmal Kumar, Alwyn Colaco, journalist Pushparaj Shetty and Vani Periyodi were present. The programme began by releasing the book 'Red Alert'.
