Davanagere man commits suicide in Mangaluru lodge

Mangaluru (TOI): A 43-year-old man from Davanagere allegedly committed suicide by slitting his throat with a knife at a lodge at KS Rao Road.

Police recovered a death note from the spot in which the deceased, Shambu G S blamed two persons for forcing him to take the extreme step.
Shambhu had checked into the lodge on May 20 and the s uicide came to light on Sunday afternoon when a room boy found his body lying in a pool of blood.

Police added that the victim had come to the city to admit his children to a school.

Fingerprint and forensic experts visited the spot. A case of unnatural death report has been registered at Mangaluru North (Bunder) police station.

Goonda Act enforced; two men arrested

In order to avoid any untoward incidents and maintain law and order, Mangaluru City police have arrested two persons under the Goonda Act. Police said they arrested Rahul, 22, a resident of Mogaveerapatna, as several cases, including attempt to murder and rioting, have been registered against him.

He has been sent to the Central Jail in Mysuru. Another person Iqbal, 37, a resident of Shantinagar, Kavoor, was arrested and sent to Dharwad Central Jail. Cases of murder, rioting, destroying public property and other heinous offences have been registered against him.
