Mangaluru (TOI): A student assaulted principal of Milagres College after he was denied to appear for upcoming semester examination on grounds of attendance shortage, here on Thursday.
Police said, college principal Rev Fr Michael Santumayar had told final year student Shanwaz that he cannot appear for examination due to attendance shortage.
Student, who got furious over this, assaulted the principal and threatened to kill him if he doesn't allow him to appear for examination.
College principal, who is also a student of Konkani M A Course at Mangalore University Evening College was rushed to private hospital and is being treated there.
Mangaluru North Police have registered case against student under Indian Penal Code (IPC) 306, 324 and 504.
