Mangaluru (TOI): Mangalore University has asked undergraduate students who have received errors in their results allegedly due to software glitches to contact help desk and raise the issue.

The students' grievances will be sorted out immediately, said A M Khan, registrar (evaluation), Mangalore University. Students can also contact the help desk for examination-related queries on 0824-2287277. They have been told not to panic and report discrepancies in the results, if any, to the principal of the college.

The varsity's move came soon after some of section of the media reported about the goof-up in the recently announced UG results.

Khan said that many students were in a state of confusion after the media reported about the mix-up of UG results.

"Although there is a delay in announcing the results, it was done after careful verification and testing through the new software. The new advanced software has been developed in line with the IT initiatives of the state government to provide end-to-end solution and bring transparency in the examination process. The results published in the website are provisional results, which have been released course-wise and semester-wise one after another. Therefore, there is no chance of marks getting interchanged between different courses," he stated.

Further, he added that the results of some students are held up for technical reasons such as non-approval of admission, writing wrong codes, non-submission of internal assessment marks and financial statements by colleges.

However, such results are immediately announced when proper clarifications are given by the colleges.
