Former district surgeon booked for irregularities in Wenlock Hospital

Mangaluru: Anti-Corruption Bureau has registered case against former district surgeon and two other female employees of district Wenlock Hospitarelating to irregularities amounting to Rs 11,42,280 stated to have occurred in the hospital.

The employees named in the case happen to be former district surgeon, Dr Saroja, and first division assistants, B G Yashoda and K B Suma. The alleged irregularities had happened in the years 2011-12 and 2012-13. Split up figures of the wrongdoings amount to Rs 10,86,780 in procurement of hand gloves, Rs 45,500 in purchase of linen cloth, and Rs 10,000 in bedding material. Based on complaint, case under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

The case was registered by ACB deputy superintendent of police, Sudhir M Hegde, under the guidance of superintendent of police, Shruthi N S. Investigation is continuing, a release said.
