Ganja peddlers from Tamil Nadu arrested

Belthangady: Three inter-state ganja peddlers including woman were arrested by Bantwal police at KSRTC bus stand in Dharmastala on Tuesday. Chandrakumar, Shanthakumar and Tamil Selvi from Gudalur in Tamil Nadu are identified as the arrested.

Chandrakumar, Shanthakumar and Tamil Selvi were waiting at the entrance of KSRTC bus stand in Dharmastala. On noticing the three with bags, police grew suspicious took all the three into custody. During interrogation they have revealed the fact that they had purchased ganja from Vijayawada in AP and were transporting them from Madhurai to Udupi. They have siezed three mobiles, Rs 1,100 cash and 20 Kgs of ganja, a total worth of Rs 4 lakhs.

The operation was taken up under the able guidance of SP Bhushan and Additional SP Dr Vedamurthy and other police officers. Investigations are underway.
