Puttur: A gas tanker collided head-on with a car at Matha near Uppinangady on Monday June 20. The car driver lost his life. Two others suffered suffered injuries, and got admitted into hospital.
Jayadev (58), resident of Hanbal near Sakleshpur, who was driving the car, sustained critical injuries. He died when being taken to hospital. His wife, Sudha (42), suffered serious injuries, while daughter, Anvitha (17), survived with minor injuries. Both of them have been admitted into a private hospital.
Jayadev was going to Mangaluru in his car from Hanbal, when his car was hit by a gas tanker that was moving from Mangaluru towards Bengaluru near Matha on national highway 75 at around 9.30 am on Monday after the tanker driver lost control over his vehicle.
A case about the incident was registered in the traffic police station in the town.
