Bangarpet (Kolar dist) (DHNS): Two groups of the same community clashed over a dispute pertaining to a site belonging to the church in the town on Sunday.
A verbal duel ensued between the two groups at the Apostolic Calvary Church at Gangammanapalya. Soon, the groups came to blows. Many people sustained injuries in the incident. Furniture inside the church was ransacked.
The groups later met MLA S?N?Narayanaswamy and apprised him about the incident. The tension eased after the legislator promised to initiate necessary action. The two groups are locked in a dispute over the site for many months now. Police have made elaborate security arrangements to prevent any untoward incident.
